![]() Greetings: My name is Kimberly Latimore and I have the privilege to serve as the president of the Silhouettes of the Atlanta Alumni Chapter. The Silhouettes of the Atlanta Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is an auxiliary organization of the Atlanta Chapter of the fraternity whose membership is comprised of the wives and widows of the men of Kappa Alpha Psi. The chapter is one of a national network of chapters which is supported by provincial and national leadership. The primary function of the chapter is to give assistance in any project designated by the fraternity, to engage in community service projects recommended by the national leadership and approved by the membership, to host Silhouettes visiting Atlanta for Grand Chapter or Provincial meetings and to plan social activities for the membership. The chapter was founded in 1954 under the leadership of Kappa Theodore Menchan to assist the Kappas in planning the 1956 Grand Chapter meeting which convened in Atlanta. Since its inception, the chapter has remained an active and vital auxiliary to the Atlanta Kappas. Notable activities included: * Assisting the Kappas in the Guide Right Program * Sponsoring spring and Christmas social activities * Providing information to the membership on serious diseases which affect women Upcoming activities: * Silhouette Meet Ups * Sponsoring a Christmas activity which will also celebrate the chapter’s annual anniversary * Assisting the Kappas as needed |
